Made Fresh in Jersey Shares are not currently being offered for the 2024 season. These items are available at our Medford market.
In recent years South Jersey has seen an explosion of food artisans producing wonderful items made with locally grown or harvested ingredients. At Summer Wind Farms we absolutely love these great foods and we also love supporting these local small businesses. You can join us in that support and sample some the great food products from right here in the Garden State. This share is distributed once per month from June through September for a total of four shares.
Our “Made Fresh in Jersey” share is anchored by some of the best honey you’ve ever had. We start with blueberry honey in June. The hives are brought to Blueberry farms in Hammonton to forage on the blueberry flowers. Each taste of this honey is like a mouthful of Jersey Blueberries! The flavor is amazing.
We’ll also get you a jar of “Pine Barrens” local honey. The beehives are brought deep into the Jersey Pine Forests where they forage on wildflowers but pick up some pine resin also which gives this honey a spectacular caramel like flavor. Delicious Wildflower and Cranberry honey round out the season.
Other local items you’ll receive include Jersey Fresh tomato Sauce and Crushed Tomatoes. Local artisan vinegar made from Jersey Merlot wine. The Jersey fruit jams and jellies are also spectacular. No local summer fruit food basket would be complete without peach cider and peach salsa as well as the pride of Cape May County, Beach Plum jam. We’ve got a few Jersey hot sauces, as well as a few surprises for you.
